About Us

Mike, Ava & Stephanie
My name is Stephanie Howell-Lanza and I am Mike Howell’s wife. I started this blog for a few reasons. The first reason was to share with close family and friends what Mike is going through with his disease, what we are going through as a couple, and what I am going through as a spouse and caregiver. I also started this blog to create awareness about this awful disease. I hope I am able to answer questions people may have and to share our journey with others. I also hope that I can one day pay it forward and help others who are going through this disease. Mike and I have been so blessed with all the support and love we have received from family, friends, neighbors and complete strangers. It truly is amazing. I am not a writer by any means and I know my spelling isn’t always the best. Especially when I am trying to get something out all at once. So I do apologize for the errors in advance.

To start off here is some background of our lives before cancer. Mike & I met in 2010. We got engaged in August of 2013 and then married on October 4, 2014. Mike has a beautiful daughter named Ava who is 7 years old. Mike is 37 and I am 25 years old. Mike and I have two businesses together. The first one is Perfect View Window Cleaning. Mike has been working the past 21 years as a self-employed window cleaner for residential and commercial customers. Since 2012, I have been working with Mike, cleaning windows. We also have a second business we eagerly started together back in January of 2014. That business is Unique Photo Booths. We rent photo booths for different events, weddings, parties, etc. Recently I was also working as a program coordinator for Stand & Deliver at Family Services of the Merrimack Valley in Lawrence, MA. Stand & Deliver is a youth academic mentoring program. I coordinated over 100 middle and high school students to get weekly academic mentoring at local business.

In regards to Mike & I working together we’ve had friends say don’t you get sick of each other? Living and working together? This answer is NO! We truly enjoy being with one another whether it is spending time alone or working long days. As corny and silly as it may sound, Mike is my soul mate. I am selfishly in love with him and I know we were meant for
one another!
